Like many charities, we’re facing economic challenges with rising costs and funding that is not keeping pace. Now, more than ever, we rely on your support. Your contribution will help us navigate these difficult times and enable us to plan long-term so we can continue supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism to discover the arts.
Pyramid supports over 120 people with learning disabilities and/or autism to discover the arts and develop their creative skills each year. We rely on regular donations to continue running eight weekly groups, 14 development teams and an open studio where member artists connect, enjoy the creative process, and collaborate on exciting projects. with people with learning disabilities and/or autism in groups and one-to-one to help people discover, explore and enjoy the arts, and develop as artists to the full extent of their abilities and ambitions.
Why your donation to Pyramid matters

Removing barriers
People with learning disabilities and/or autism face barriers to acessing arts and culture, which is made worse by lack of encouragement, choice, opportunity, access and control. There are very few accessible spaces in Leeds where people with learning disabilities can explore and develop their creative practices. Your donation will help us continue to offer an accessible studio space and programmes for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to discover and explore the arts.
Boosting wellbeing and employability skills
Our social and creative activity at Pyramid helps contribute to our members’ wellbeing. Our members will be healthier, happier and more connected. Our members often stay for many years, forming long-term friendships. Our members show to have improved social skills, self-confidence and good mental health because of their participation in our groups and one-to-one sessions. Your donation will help us to continue delivering our creative groups for people with learning disabilities and/or autism.

Future-proofing our services
Public funding for arts and culture in England has been drastically reduced over the past 14 years. We have seen local authorities face unprecedented challenges in balancing their budgets and struggling to maintain support for cultural initiatives and community services. Pyramid, like many arts organisations catering to marginalised communities, has experienced significant funding cuts or complete loss of financial support. Your donation will help us navigate these difficult times.
With your donation, we can support more people with disabilities and/or autism discover the arts to improve their wellbeing and encourage new pathways into employment.
