Training for Artists

Explorations looks at practical planning and facilitation issues when delivering projects which involve people with learning disabilities.

Course content includes:

  • Identifying and practicing ways of making an arts process more accessible
  • Exploration of the factors that influence individual and group creative choice
  • The impact of group dynamics and interrelationships
  • Facilitating choice in groups that include people with learning disabilities

Participants will also gain awareness and skills in project planning, health and safety and documenting and evaluating projects.

Explorations is aimed at creative practitioners and facilitators working alongside people with learning disabilities.  It consists of two evening and two full-day sessions.

Members of Pyramid are able to access this training course free of charge, provided that they are willing to commit to voluntary work of at least three hours per week for at least six months.  Please note that you may be liable for payment in full if you accept free training and then fail to regularly attend Pyramid activities.

Cost: £270 (50% concessionary discount available for low income / small organisations)
